Energy Saving Programs
Many resources are available for seniors living independently. The following is information about Home Energy and Weatherization Assistance Programs in Anoka, Hennepin and Ramsey Counties: The Weatherization Assistance Program and the Energy Assistance Program (EAP) work together to help permanently reduce the energy bills for low-income Minnesotans. The Weatherization Assistance Program provides free home energy upgrades to income-eligible homeowners and renters to help save energy and make sure your home is a healthy and safe place to live. The Energy Assistance Program (EAP) helps pay for home heating costs for income-qualified households. In addition to these two programs, Energy Related Repair (ERR) Programs may be able to assist with emergency repair or replacement of non-functional or unsafe heating systems.
